What is File-Reg?
File-Reg International was founded in 2000 to provide a legal, affordable and secure method for the online registration of Intellectual Property other then Patent or Trademarks through the use of PKI technology incorporating Personal Digital Certificates, Digital Fingerprints and Digital Time Stamps.
Register using software
Registering your work using our software ensures total confidentiality. Absolutely no content of your work is uploaded to the File-Reg servers. When using the registration software the actual file you register is not uploaded to the File-Reg servers, only a digital fingerprint of that file, which is also encrypted. Like a persons fingerprint it is not possible to see or recreate the physical features of a person from their fingerprint. It is also not possible for any employee at File-Reg International to see the contents of what you are registering.
Please note: You can register your work using a Digital Certificate (digital ID) or with your username password.
Direct upload and register
It is now possible to register your work via your browser, no software needed. Your registered file is safely uploaded to our servers where the registration process is carried out and finalized. Your registered file will be saved on our servers and, as always, you will recieve a comfirmation email of your registration within a few minutes. Your files and registration will be saved as long as you remain a member of File-Reg.
If you do not wish to upload files for registration you can still register them using our software (PC only). After registration you will receive confirmation of the registration by email.
Continuing work on a registered file?
It is possible to continue working on the registered file. During the actual registration File-Reg software makes a ‘read only’ copy of the file then places it in a special folder within your own computer. Therefore your registration is always protected.
